NASA's 2006 Software of the Year

A software-based analysis environment for exploring, developing, and evaluating advanced air traffic management concepts has been named NASA's 2006 Software of the Year. Developed by Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, CA, FACET (Future ATM Concepts Evaluation Tool) has produced technologies that have been implemented by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), commercial and general aviation, and companies of all sizes. The NASA Software of the Year competition began in 1994 to reward outstanding software developed by the agency. The competition is sponsored by the NASA Chief Engineer, with technical support from NASA's Inventions and Contributions Board.
