Dr. Adrian Ponce is Deputy Manager of JPL's Planetary Science Section, and heads up the Ponce Research Group, an interdisciplinary team of researchers fromJPLrnand the California Institute of Technology (Caltech).rnDr. Adrian Ponce: Shortly after I got started at JPL, I learned about the issue of bacterial spores and planetary protection - how do we make sure that spacecraft are clean before we send them to Mars or other places? I started working on how we detect spores quicker, in a better way.
