Dr. Paul Davies, born 12 years after Carl Sagan, is in much the same mold as a scientist and a popularizer of science. A distinguished cosmol-ogist, physicist, and astrobiologist, Davies currently serves as director of the Beyond Center for Fundamental Concepts in Science and is co-director of the Cosmology Initiative at Arizona State University.
