Shortly before the holidays late last year, Amazon recommended adding Reliability Theory and Practice by Igor Bazovsky to the shopping cart. Some skepticism may be appropriate when it comes to recommendations by Amazon, but this recommendation stood out. It advised that this particular book, published way back in 1961 and repub-lished unabridged in 2004, was worthy of special attention because of the superior quality of writing, clarity of derivations, comprehensiveness of content, and historical relevance. And all of this could be had for the reasonable price of something under $20. It winds up Amazon was spot-on.
