Awind farm 30 miles offshore can have as many as 100 individual turbines spaced neatly across the horizon. Operations seemingly go on without intervention, but looks are deceiving. In truth, these turbines require a fleet of support vessels, including jack-up rigs, to install and maintain them. The safety and efficiency of the people, processes, and hardware are all paramount for the multiple stakeholders involved. Site assessment of the jack-ups and their operations are required to keep things running on a firm foundation.
