I'm seeing a pattern. A theme within the theme, if you will. This issue of (mi) magazine is focused on marine equipment-from mooring systems to flood containment technology-and the number one recurring theme in the content, by far, has been safety. How do we meet safety rules and regs? How can we design safety into our vessels? And with the bottom line forever staring us in the face, how do we manage the intersection of safety and cost?
