The Role of Waste-to-Energy in Sustainable Waste Management

Another 200 million tons were landfilled with partial methane (CH_4) recovery, while more than 800 million tons were landfilled without methane recovery, and, in parts of the developing world, in non-regulated waste dumps. All of these numbers are expected to double by 2030, associated with economic development and ever-increasing population.
