Three and a half decades ago, the Corvette crowd felt the 911 was a chrome-plated Volkswagen.Porschefiles made fun of Chevy's crude, plastic sports-car pretender.So what's changed? Not much and quite a bit.This month's cover, for what must be the umpteenth time, pits the latest-and for sure greatest-performing-Corvette against a Porsche that doesn't resemble any VW we know of.Throwing a Ferrari into the mix, then or now, is a logical step, although nobody in 1970 would've believed Japan capable of building the exotic-vet-docile missile that is the Nissan GT-R.
