I am a longtime Motor Trend reader living Down Under, and each month I look forward to receiving your magazine and that other great magazine, Wheels. I enjoyed The Big Test in the June 2013 edition ("Small In"), however, I wound up confused by the IntelliChoice costings. By my simple calculations, they appear incorrect, and I am hoping that you can clarify. The 5-year cost of fuel is inconsistent with the mpg figures you recorded, e.g., the Kia Forte ranked second-most frugal (24.4 mpg), but its 5-year cost ranked second highest ($8926). The Nissan Sentra ranked as the second-heaviest fuel user (21.2 mpg), yet its 5-year cost ranked second-best ($7690)?
