As I write this it's 10 years to the day since I arrived in America to take the reins at Motor Trend. Back then Motor Trend was just a magazine. Today it's one of the world's largest automotive media brands, with audiences on YouTube, the Web, and social media that now dwarf the million-plus circulation of the print product. It's been a helluva ride. And that's before we start talking about the cars... Back in 2004 I marveled that among the 162 vehicles listed in Motor Trend's annual New Cars Buyer's Guide, 32 offered engines punching out 400 hp or more.
