Daimler AG's newly developed Blind Spot Assist system is designed to help drivers when changing lanes by warning motorists when vehicles behind are in a blind spot area that cannot be seen by the driver in the exterior mirror. The system employs six short-range radar sensors, found in the front and rear bumpers, to monitor these zones on both sides and behind the car.
