We're Closing in on the end of tax season, and the IRS is taking a full swing at scam artists posing electronically as IRS representatives.rnThe IRS reports that it does not send taxpayers unsolicited e-mails about their tax accounts, situations or issues. According to the IRS Web site, IRS impersonation schemes flourish during filing season. These schemes may take place via phone, fax, the Internet, social networking sites and e-mail. While most attempt to get the taxpayer to reveal personal information, like bank accounts and Social Security numbers, others contain attachments filled with viruses.
