The pace of dry bulk carrier net fleet growth slowed in July from the previous month, according to data compiled by SSY, thanks in large part to a slower newbuilding delivery pace. A total of ten vessels (1.24 Mdwt) were removed from service during the month, down from 13 in June, with the decline driven by developments in the 100,000+ dwt Capesize fleet segment, where four deletions followed nine in June. Meanwhile, a rare Panamax (65 -99,999 dwt) deletion was recorded (the first since May and only the fourth of this year), alongside four Handymax vessels and a solitary Handysize. A further nine demolition sales have been recorded by SSY, the largest of these a 69,000 dwt Panamax.
