Japan's Recovery Boosts Asia Trade

Although Chinese iron ore imports rebounded to an 8-month high of 57.4 Mt in November, they remain on course for their first annual decline since 1998. Yet, despite this setback to the main driver of seaborne dry bulk trade growth over the last 10 years, we still expect 2010 to be a new all-time high for Asian iron ore imports as demand from the region's other importers recover from their depressed 2009 levels.
