US Coking Coal Export Surge

US seaborne coking coal exports have demonstrated an upward trend this year. There is the potential for the country's seaborne coking coal trade in 2010 to reach almost 50 Mt for the first time since 1992, up 53% from 2009. Such robust growth has not just been driven by the recovery in world steel production, but also influenced by the (limited) availability of cargoes from other sources.
