1. As end-2011 approaches, global ship completions are on course to rise again, for a 13th successive year. Even allowing for some slippage in newbuilding deliveries, SSY now expects some 97.5 mdwt of new bulkers to enter service in 2011, against 78.7mdwt in 2010 - which had itself been a new annual record.rn2. Oil tanker completions, having fallen in 2010, are set to rally this year, with SSY projecting these to reach 40.5mdwt (up by 3.3mdwt from 2010), mainly due to higher completions of dirty vessels.
