USDA 2014/15 Forecast Update

In the latest update to its forecasts for world wheat, coarse grain and soya trade, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) presents a mixed picture with overall grain volumes for the next 12 months expected to slip below the records of 2013/14. It has revised up its global export forecast for soyabeans in 2014/15 (Oct-Sep) to a new high of 115.5 Mt and upgraded the forecast for US exports (+0.5 Mt to 46.8 Mt) at the prospect of a bigger domestic harvest boosting trade volumes. The forecast for global soyameal trade is almost unchanged at 64.0 Mt, although US exports are again upgraded (+0.7 Mt to 11.6 Mt).
