1.The dry bulk fleet is set to record its highest quarterly net growth since the 1q14 as increased newbuilding deliveries overwhelm relatively modest levels of demolition. As in 2016, the fastest growth in the ytd has been in the 40-64,999 dwt Handymax sector, due to an abundance of Ultramax newbuilding deliveries. 2.New tanker additions slowed in February, but with no removals last month the total crude and product tanker fleet continued to expand with net growth of 1.8% in the first two months 2017. This has been led by the VLCC and Suezmax sectors.
