I had no interest whatsoever in Morgan cars until I went to Top Gear Live in Birmingham in 2012 and came across a 3-wheeler on a stand outside the arena. I had never seen anything like it. I immediately wanted one. My mind was made up. I visited the factory the following March to place my order. I had my specification ready which happened to be almost identical to one on display in the visitor centre. That one turned out to be a cancelled order so rather than have to wait until the autumn, I picked up the car 3-weeks later. The early months with the car were difficult. Bump-steer, bevel box screaming, compensator, but one by one the problems were sorted by the factory and I was ready to start really using the car. It was always my intention to use the 3-wheeler for extended trips but 2013 was really limited to UK day trips until I trusted the car. By the end of the year I was ready to explore further afield so I started planning. The Route des Grandes Alps was top of my list.
