There's a French saying:' les absents ont toujours tort' which, literally, equates to ' those who are absent are always in the wrong'. Judging by the rise in attendance this year at the classic car show, last year s freak snowfall in Paris apparently kept approximately 14,000 potential visitors at bay. For its 44th edition, Retromobile showcased an impressive variety of vehicles. From a duo of WW Ⅱ tanks facing each other (Panzer & Sherman) to a gigantic Berliet T100 lorry (French) - the biggest in the world in 1957 - the record number of 132000 visitors got more than what they bargained for! Morgan Belgium, headed by Thomas Stammet, along with three French sub dealers plus Marcassus (who covers the south of France), hosted its now traditional stand that received factory backing once again. All three Morgans displayed, a 3-wheeler, a Plus 4 roadster and a V6 Roadster, were 110th Anniversary models supplied by the Belgian dealer. The elegantly decorated stand also enabled visitors to discover, via permanent video coverage on a screen, how Morgans are built. Throughout the show interested (and interesting!) parties were offered a coupe of sparkling Vouvray wine from personalised ' Morgan' labelled bottles.
