PASSENGER NUMBERS on the rail network were five times higher between April and June this year than for the same period in 2020, according to statistics released by the Office of Rail and Road. 182 million journeys were made between April and June, compared with 35 million for the same three months in 2020 - but as the regulator points out, this is still far below the 437 million journeys in April to June 2019.
