Mobility's impact on warehouse/DC management

Mobility is one of the hottest trends in supply chain management. From ruggedized computers, smart phones, apps and scanners, to voice systems, RFID solutions and the wireless networks and software that tie all the data together, mobile solutions are on the rise. In this session, Andrew Nathanson, vice president of AutoID, and David Krebs, vice president of mobile and wireless practice, both of VDC Research, put mobility in context in terms of its relationship with warehouse/DC management, dispelled myths concerning what mobility is/is not capable of achieving, and shared several examples of supply chain operations that fully leverage mobility to realize greater organizational benefit. Krebs started the session by discussing how rugged mobile computing solutions are being deployed in warehouse/DC and supply chain environments. He also addressed the overall size and growth of rugged mobile computing investments in the warehouse/DC and covered key application trends that organizations are seeing in the marketplace.
