Toyota Industries Corporation to acquire the forklift business of Tailift

Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO), parent company of Toyota Material Handling USA (TMHU), has entered into a definitive agreement under which TICO will acquire the forklift business of Tailift Co. Operating mainly in Taiwan and China, Tailift is a Top 20 manufacturer of electric and internal combustion forklifts as well as industrial machine tools. Established in 1973, the company employs 1,000. Tailift's forklift department has a production capacity of 28,000 forklifts per year. The agreement was announced in September 2014 by TICO president Akira Onishi.
