To reduce work-in-process and inventory costs while improving labor utilization, a new, Cloud-based industrial Internet software module, WIP Manager, works with existing systems to provide true visibility into where work orders are in the manufacturing plant. It is ideal for heavy industrial operations with long cycle times, widely dispersed assembly space on the plant floor, and expensive raw materials. With increased material visibility, managers can ensure the right material is ready at the right time and in the right place. The system tracks production and service processes through work orders and an operational route-imported from the facility's manufacturing execution system (MES)-through the shop floor.
