Outlook survey: Optimism in the long run

Last month in Modern, we devoted quite a bit of ink to how the pandemic has proven to be a "great accelerator" for innovative thinking and technology implementation inside our warehouse and DC operations. Well, this month, we offer some data that validates that growing optimism, and we also share a System Report that reminds us that disruption comes in all shapes and sizes. Starting on page 30, senior editor Roberto Michel digs into the Peerless Research Group's "2021 Industry Outlook Survey," our annual report that reveals the economy's impact on warehouse/DC equipment, technology and software buying decisions. Since the survey was conducted in January, we weren't sure if the data would match up to some of that hopefulness we had been hearing at the end of 2020.
