Wire mesh containers store more Mattel parts

Mattel Toys has switched to wire mesh containers within its plants in Murray, Ky. The zinc-plated containers will not rust. They're also fitted with casters and a hitch attachment so they may be towed, several at a time. Mattel produces all types of toys, from battery-operated carts to doll houses. Prior to switching to wire containers, all parts were stored in either plastic bins or corrugated boxes. With the wire containers, however, the storage units facilitate visual inventory checks. Parts are cleaner as is the plant. And Mattel gets more parts into a container.
