Organic food supplier Happy Planet abandoned expensive steel drums and invested in collapsible, stackable intermediate bulk containers for raw fluid transport and handling. Looking for an alternative to increasingly costly steel drums, Happy Planet (maker of organic fruit beverages and soups) turned to reusable plastic containers and pallets. The intermediate bulk containers (IBCs), featuring collapsible sidewalls, four-way lift truck entry and a capacity of up to 302 gallons or 3,000 pounds, were well-suited for the raw fluid management Happy Planet needed. The containers were also major space savers, able to be stacked and stored more efficiently. Up to five units can be stacked on top of one another, and when empty, the containers collapse for more compact storing.
