Industrial Manufacturing M&A Up 10% in 2015

2015 was a strong year for industrial manufacturing M&A, as deal volume increased by 10 percent compared to the prior year and was the highest total in the past 10 years, according to PwC's quarterly analysis of M&A activity. Deal value, however, recorded a more than 30 percent decrease during the same time period. 2015's recorded deal value of $87.2 billion was still well above the 10-year historical average for the sector of $70 billion. It was a sluggish fourth quarter for deal volume and value, both of which declined sequentially by 8 and 22 percent and year-over-year by 19 and 43 percent, respectively.
