This three-dome tank car, a new model that Micro-Trains Line has released in three road names so far, is a good-looking car that belongs on any steam-era N layout. The prototype was built by American Car & Foundry in the 1930s and '40s. The car carried loads such as different grades of petroleum products. The three-dome tank car could more correctly be called a three-tank car. Its body is divided into three compartments of differing size, allowing it to carry three different cargos. This makes the car ideal for smaller industries that wouldn't generate enough business to receive full-car loads. For example, a fuel dealer might get one of these cars laden with gasoline, kerosene, and fuel oil.
