Experts are divided over the potential impact of mobile viruses but, Tony Dennis explains, as customer perception of the threat increases, operators will have to act. When it comes to evaluating the threat from viruses and other forms of 'malware' (malicious software), the mobile phone sector has reached something of a crossroads. Hackers have been experimenting with malicious code aimed at mobile phones for some time now, so it seems natural to assume they'll do serious harm eventually.
