UMTS900 OPENS UP NEW HORIZONS IN 3G DEVELOPMENT

Most European GSM networks were built many years ago and seem unlikely to be expanded in the 3G era. With UMTS network construction and operations now the industry benchmark, more and more mobile operators are currently building 2100 MHz band UMTS networks. These operators are also actively exploring the possibility of constructing UMTS900 systems using the 900 MHz GSM frequency band. As a result, leading industry players such as Vodafone, Telefonica, Orange and Optus are all now collaborating with Huawei in conducting UMTS900 trials over their networks.
