The new minister for rough sleeping has been pressed on what support can be given to those with no recourse to public funds (NRPF). MPs on the Housing, Communities and Local Government Committee told Eddie Hughes there had been widespread confusion in the local government sector since people with NRPF were put in accommodation under the Everyone In scheme. Committee chair Clive Berts said: 'Lawyers and councils don't know what the law is. Some councils are providing assistance to people with NRPF, others aren't, so a postcode lottery has developed. It seems the department is the only organisation that thinks there is clarity.'
