Situated within the wider Greater Manchester Combined Authority Area with devolved budgets, Bury is a borough with great potential and opportunity. It is a place that is undergoing significant regeneration, creating a physical space that meets the aspirations of residents, and is transforming its approach to health and social care integration, having recently established a joint commissioning organisation and local care organisation that will help deliver the place-based aims of the Bury 2030 Strategy to improve the health, wellbeing and life chances for residents. Reporting to the Executive Director of Finance, who works across the Council and CCG, we are seeking to appoint a Deputy Chief Finance Officer who will be responsible for financial leadership within the Council. As Deputy S.151 Officer, you will have responsibility for the development of the medium-term financial strategy and provide financial leadership to deliver the long-term financial strategy, optimising the efficient use of resources to support Council activities. As part of a team working across the Council and CCG, you will take a holistic approach, delivering the best outcomes for residents of Bury; maximising financia resources through a strategic approach to managing budgets, engagement of partners and suppliers, and scrutinising performance and demand in consultation with elected members.
