£95,000 settlement as Pembrokeshire chief steps down

The chief executive of Pembrokeshire CC is expected to leave the authority by the end of November after a £95,000 'settlement agreement' was struck. Chartered engineer Ian Westley, 60, said he believed the time was 'now right to move on and allow new leadership to build on the foundations that are firmly in place' after working in Welsh local government for 38 years. Leader David Simpson is understood to have wanted a new chief executive. A notice of decision by the director of resources said £95,000 was required to 'achieve fair and equitable remuneration to support a settlement agreement'. Mr Westley joined Pembrokeshire as director of transportation, housing and environment in 2003.
