Shared Lives: New evidence it can support a range of health needs

Shared Lives, a type of personalised care where peoplelive in the carer’s own home, is traditionally seen as part ofthe social care model, with the majority of arrangementsinvolving learning disabilities - some 80%.However a four-year project and subsequent report, SharedLives and Personalised Care, supported by NHS Englandand NHS Personalised Care, has provided evidence it canalso support a range of health needs and help patients to leavehospital more quickly.
