The country's first council-owned energy company has recorded a trading surplus. Marking its third anniversary this month, the not-for-profit Robin Hood Energy yielded a surplus of £202,000 and been valued at £30m. Chairman, Cllr Steve Battlemuch, said: ‘We are going into our fourth year in a strong position, having made an operating surplus within three years of trading. It's a big achievement given that most energy companies take at least five years to get to this stage.'
