Three more district councils are expected to join the growing number of local authorities entering the property business. Reigate & Banstead BC's executive meets today (15 September) to discuss plans to form a commercial trading company to invest in property and generate income for the council. If the plans are approved, the new company would buy a mixture of different properties, including homes, offices and industrial units, building on the local authority's existing portfolio of assets.
