Situated at the northernmost point of the Tees Valley combined authority area, the town has ambitious plans - and the momentum to turn them into reality. That's why Hartlepool Council is looking for two talented people to take on key positions to shape and guide what it expects to be a national success story. Like many post-industrial towns, Hartlepool suffered severe decline in the second half of the 20th century and continues to grapple with deep-seated socio-economic issues. But investment in its historic waterfront has begun to turn around its fortunes and the council is seeking to build on that success.
