Pressure is mounting on the Government to address the potential funding crisis in social care following a damning report by the National Audit Office (NAO). The report, issued last week, showed the financial watchdog had no faith in the Government's understanding of the scale of the problem. It claims costs are rising while spending is falling, the system is changing rapidly, and there is no real evidence to prove what works. While it suggests the DCLG and Department of Health were working to understand the implications of the changing market, 'other departments are not'.
