£30m SIB package set to boost vulnerable young people

An 'innovative' finance model used by councils has been boosted by the announcement of a new £30m package to help improve the prospects of up to 20,000 vulnerable young people. Deputy prime minister Nick Clegg said the social impact bond (SIB) package would open up the chance for people to invest in 'programmes that deliver real results'. A number of local authorities including Essex CC are already delivering services funded by a SIB.
