What's new on pension

Most of us will have heard about the Turner report into pensions and that certain elements within the government's cabinet have not been over the moon with the proposals. The report talks about the country heading towards a potential two-tier pension system unless the Government adopts a national pensions savings scheme and that 'Public sector workers account for 18% of all employees but something like 35% of all accrued pension rights and funds'. Whilst you might think, well that's good news for us, the reality is that it's not such good news for the rest of the communities we serve and public services will find this position difficult to sustain, in the longer term.
