Diary hears that delegates to this year's UKIP national conference in Doncaster are being pointed in the direction of the town's Turkish and Spanish restaurants. Perhaps in an attempt to broaden supporters' horizons, the UKIP website says places to go include El Toro and Turkuaz, which comes 'complete with belly dancers and live entertainment'. There is not even a mention of where delegates can find bangers and mash, fish and chips or faggots in one of the very oldest towns in Britain. The website even mentions the town's historic connection to immigration, with the town being 'first founded by the Romans'. UKIPers are promised a 'great line-up' and a 'top range of guest speakers' and not one - but two - opportunities to hear the 'party leader'.
