The Care Quality Commission has unveiled its new ratings guidance for adult social care, which comes into effect this month. The watchdog is rolling out its new approach to regulating adult social care with teams, including trained members of the public, inspecting services against whether the people who use them are safe and being looked after. The new ratings will also look at whether a service is meeting the needs of people, whether care home staff have the right skills and whether people are receiving consistent, personalised care. Services will either be rated as outstanding, good, requires improvement or inadequate.
