So Diary gives three lusty cheers to South Tyneside chief executive Martin Swales and his counterpart Tony Reeves from Bradford MBC. No town hall fat cats these, Martin and Tony will this Sunday run the 33rd Great North Run, which South Tyneside hosts each year. Martin is running in aid of the Children's Cystic Fibrosis Unit at the Great North Children's Hospital, Newcastle, which serves the whole region and Diary readers can do the decent thing and sponsor Martin.
