London health board 'needs more power'

Councils in London have called on the Government to give statutory powers to their capital-wide health board.The London Health Improvement Board (LHIB) was established in shadow form in March 2011, pending legislation, which would give it legal powers and was promised in the May 2012 Queen's Speech.
