MBC in talks over plan for 'city-region' chief

Rochdale MBC has confirmed it is talking to 'six or seven' authorities in Greater Manchester over a potential plan to appoint a shared chief executive.A spokesman for the Lancashire-based council said that one of the authorities it had spoken to about a shared chief's role was Oldham MBC.But the spokesman denied neighbouring Old-ham was Rochdale's preferred partner in any fu-ture deal.
