Corby BC was the only one of eight councils that voted to reject plans to create two unitaries in Northamptonshire. The council voted against signing the proposal last week despite knowing the plans would be put forward to the Government regardless. Leader of Corby, Cllr Tom Beattie, said: 'From holding our own consultation it was clear that a unitary authority was not an option the people of Corby nor the borough council willingly wanted to be part of.'
