Less than one in ten adult social care directors believe they will be able to fulfil their statutory duties next year, a survey has found. As the sector continues to wrestle with a burgeoning funding crisis, increasingly 'fragile' markets and escalating demands, the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services' (ADASS) budget survey this week revealed that more than one in three (36%) officers felt they could meet their responsibilities this year, with confidence plummeting to just 8% for 2017/18.
