A combined authority for Lancashire remains on the cards despite one council's refusal to take part. Wyre BC leader Peter Gibson said a 'big majority' of his members voted not to join because the benefits were 'not clear'. Cllr Gibson said: 'I'm not the most popular with the other Lancashire council leaders at the moment but we're not joining until we get proper evidence of the benefits. We don't do leaps of faith in Wyre.' Lancashire leaders have vowed to press ahead without Wyre.
