Bosses fear 'breaking-point' to come in 2015/16

Nearly three-quarters of local authority managers believe 2015/16 could be the year the sector reache: 'breaking point', if additional spending round cuts were implemented, a survey has revealed. Research undertaken by business services firm Civica also found the looming crunch year for town hall finances, combined with political uncertainty as to a possible change of government after the 2015 General Election, has made two-in five authorities more cautious about making large, transformational changes to their services and processes. The majority of those surveyed (62%) said they would prefer to see a majority government in power after 2015.
